The culture in which our young people are forced to grow up in, is one in which generations before us have never experienced. There is no longer any absolute truth, and black and white has certainly turned to grey. It seems as though many teens do what they think is ok in their own eyes, and our culture tolerates it, and calls it freedom of expression. This is why the local churches must continue to take a proactive approach to reaching young people. There is power in God’s word, but it seems as though the methods in which we try to present the gospel to young people is irrelevant to them, and ineffective in reaching them.
At FBC Beacon of Hope, we do not sugarcoat the message of God’s word, but we do present it to young people in a way that is relevant to them. The youth culture in our country is in a crisis state. We are committed to serving, loving, supporting, teaching and discipleship of our youth.
- One of the most effective ways we have found to do that is to support camps that are geared for and trained for youth ministry. The camps we support offer weekend retreats during the summer, fall and winter, as well as weeklong camps during the summer.
- In addition to these camps, we also provide our own opportunities for our youth to grow spiritually, while building relationships and having fun at the same time.
Being a Youth Pastor for 10 years before becoming the Associate Pastor at FBC Beacon of Hope, I have a deep passion and love for young people. If you have any questions about youth opportunities here, send me an email, or click on one of the links below to check out the camps we support.
